Verizon Wireless job fair Tuesday

Verizon Wireless will host a meet and greet event Tuesday to provide those interested in working at the company’s new Huntsville call center with the opportunity to learn about job opportunities. Company representatives will be available to provide information and answer questions regarding the center, career opportunities, Verizon Wireless compensation and benefits packages and the hiring process.

When fully staffed, 1,300 professionals will be housed in the facility, including customer service, tech support, government customer service teams and corporate sales employees.

The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Marriott Huntsville Grand Ballroom at 5 Tranquility Blvd.

Business expo will be April 22

The Springtime Business Expo will be April 22 at the Decatur Aquadome from 2 to 5 p.m.

What’s Next Network is taking orders for booth space and advertisements. What’s Next Network is a new project of the nonprofit organization North Alabama Prepared Scholars Inc. of Huntsville. Its goal is to facilitate the development of the community by removing barriers to operating a successful business or nonprofit, obtaining home ownership and career development. The Network provides individual services to the public and business owners and entrepreneurs.

The event is free to the public. Door prizes, goodie bags and resource directories will be available.
