Documents can be picked up or shipped upon receipt of a deposit of $250.00 per set, made payable to: Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc., which will be refunded in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each general contract bidder submitting a bonafide bid, upon return of documents to Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc., in good and reusable condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Other sets for general contractors, and sets for subs and dealers, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. Only General contractors who have completed this prequalification process within the stated time limits, and which are properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, will be considered for prequalification for the Work of this project. The prequalification procedure is intended to identify responsible and competent bidders relative to the requirements of the Project. The Owner reserves the right to waive technical errors in applications or abandon the prequalification process. Best rating of "A-" or better; and (4) Bid Project's value must be less that or equal to 50% of the annual dollar volume of the applicant's like work. Prequalification proposal requirements may be obtained from the Architect, by written request on the contractor's company letterhead. A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at the same location as bids are to be opened, at 2:00 local time on Thursday, July 17, 2008 for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering Bidder's questions. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference IS REQUIRED for all General Contractor Bidders intending to submit a Proposal, and is highly recommended for Subcontractors. Bids from General Contractors not attending the Pre-Bid Conference will be rejected. This project is being bid INCLUDING TAXES, and requires the contractor to enter into a separate agreement with the Owner, wherein the Contractor will be authorized to make materials purchases with purchase orders issued by the Owner, issue tabulated invoices to the Owner for Owner's payment at least once monthly, so as to take advantage of the Owner's tax exempt status, and otherwise to administer the sales and use tax savings portion of the project for the Owner, as a part of their Bid. Taxes will then be deducted from the contract amount either from payments issued to the Contractor or by change order at the end of the project, as elected by the Owner.
