FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals, in duplicate, will be received by the DECATUR CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION at the office of the SUPERINTENDENT, 302 Fourth Ave., Decatur, Alabama 35601 until 2:00 P.M., CDST on TUESDAY - OCTOBER 21, 2008 for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services required for the construction of:
EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS AT BUS LOADING CANOPY AT CEDAR RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE DECATUR CITY SCHOOLS- DECATUR, ALABAMA at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A certified check or bid bond payable to DECATUR CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Statutory Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract.
This project consists of PVC roofing.
A MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE of intended bidders will be held by the Decatur City Board of Education for the purpose of presenting and explaining the policies of the Board. This Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 10:00 A.M., CDST at the Cedar Ridge Middle School.
Notice of Sales & Use Tax: The Contractor's Base Bid and all Alternate Bids submitted on the Proposal Form SHALL INCLUDE the cost of all required taxes including sales and use taxes.
Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the Office of the Consultant, and Dodge Plan Room in Huntsville; Reed Construction Data; and AGC Plan Room - Birmingham, AL.
Bid Documents may be obtained from the Consultant upon payment of deposit of $100.00 per set. Upon request, documents will be shipped with all shipping and handling charges collect. Deposits will returned less cost of reproduction and printing when documents are returned within ten (10) days after the bid opening to the Consultant complete and in good condition.
Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Consultant or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Owner/Consultant; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of thirty (30) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the owner will thereby be promoted.
