Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Burns, who died Monday, May 5, 2008, at her residence, was born June 18, 1926, in Cullman to Roxie Smith and Bannie Hornsby Smith. She was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David F. Burns; and one daughter, Martha Burrows. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Sims of Decatur; one son, David L. Burns of Hartselle; two brothers, J.D. Smith and James Smith, both of Cullman; one sister, Nellie McGriff of Montgomery; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Don Zell 'Bones' Clemons Athens Funeral for Don Zell "Bones" Clemons, 62, 1 p.m. Thursday at Spry, burial in Civitan Cemetery. Visitation 6 to 9 tonight. Mr. Clemons died May 5, 2008. Jerald David Harness Meridianville Jerald David Harness, 75, of Meridianville passed away Friday at his home. He was a member of Murphy Hill Baptist Church. He was retired from United Space Alliance-Huntsville (USBI). He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Betty Harness; son, Stephen and Phyllis Harness of Hartselle; brother, Kenneth and Marion Harness of Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service will be at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville today, May 7, 2008, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike McFarlen officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens. Wayne Heflin Athens Funeral for Wayne Heflin, 53, of Athens will be Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwight Raburn officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. Heflin, who died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his residence, was born July 8, 1954, in Limestone County to John Thomas Heflin and Myrtle May Heflin. He attended New Oakland Baptist Church. He was a retired Decatur businessman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Katherine Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Janice Heflin; two sons, Johnny Heflin and his wife, Zara, and Kevin Heflin and his wife, Kerrie, both of Decatur; two grandchildren, Abbey Heflin and Zachary Heflin, both of Decatur; two brothers, Billy Murphy and his wife, Sandra, and Roger Dwight Heflin and his wife, Charlotte, both of Athens; and two sisters, Marie Carter and her husband, Calvin, of Elkmont and Peggy Collins and her husband, Alfred, of Athens. Wallace Russell 'Sonny' Johnson Decatur Funeral for Wallace Russell "Sonny" Johnson, 80, of Decatur will be Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend. He died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Decatur to James Johnson and Ruby Sanderson Johnson. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur where he owned and operated Johnson's Propane for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Etheredge Johnson; and one brother, Eddie Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Johnson of LaGrange, Ga.; and three sisters, Margaret Sellers of Decatur, Frances Slayton of Pensacola, Fla., and Juyne Taylor of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Billy Biles, Donnie Slayton, Jeff Slayton, Bill Wynn, Wendell Walker and Ronald DeWeese Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorial donations be made to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240. Horace Thomas Nall Atmore Funeral for Elder Horace Thomas Nall, 85, 3 p.m. Thursday at Atmore Memorial Chapel, burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation 6 to 8 tonight. Elder Nall died May 4, 2008. He was the husband of Maxine Elizabeth Nall. Bobby Dean Perry Decatur Funeral for Bobby Dean Perry, 73, of Decatur will be Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown- Service Funeral Home with Benjamin Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7:30 at the funeral home. Mr. Perry, who died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at his residence, was born May 7, 1934, in Sheffield to Henry Ervin and Annie Mae Edge Perry. He grew up in Vinemont and Cullman and graduated from Cullman City Schools and Auburn University. Mr. Perry worked with General Dynamics and NASA as an aeronautical engineer and was a civilian employee with the U.S. Military winning many commendations and patents. He was the author of four books and the creator of beautiful art. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Decatur. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brothers, H.T. Perry and Harry Perry. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nora Evelyn Odom Perry; three daughters, Jennifer Pritchett of Elsberry, Mo., Kim Rock of Sylvania, Ohio, and Grace Crabtree of Elsberry, Mo.; one son, Clint Perry of St. Louis, Mo.; and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Joyce Perry Hinson; and his brother, Donald Milburn Perry, both of Decatur. Pallbearers will be David Rock, Leon Pritchett, Don Crabtree, Ashley Perry Crabtree, Jonathan Crabtree and Bobby Crabtree. Willie Ray Sharpley Hartselle Willie Ray Sharpley, 73, died May 5, 2008.
