One of 9 'Idol' finalists runs out of lives tonight

They survived Simon's catty comments in "purr"-fecting their versions of country hits Tuesday.

But which of the nine remaining "American Idol" finalists was scratched from competition by voters? The results air tonight at 8 on FOX-54.

March 29, Bucky Covington, the Rockingham, N.C., rockabilly predicted by many to be eliminated, found himself in the safe zone for the first time in two weeks.

After three weeks in the bottom three, Anaheim, Calif., teenager Lisa Tucker was voted off. Suprisingly, Ace Young, a rocker from Denver, and Los Angeles' Katharine McPhee, predicted by BetCRIS Sportsbook in New York City to be the top overall female singer, were the other cellar dwellers.

Other finalists are Paris Bennett of Fayetteville, Ga.; Chris Daughtry of McLeansville, N.C.; Taylor Hicks of Birmingham; Mandisa of Antioch, Tenn.; Kellie Pickler of Albermale, N.C.; and Elliott Yamin of Richmond, Va.
