Local artist to speak about copper sculpture Monday

Local artist Barbara Lawrence will talk about hand-hammered copper sculpture during an “Art Talk” on Monday.

She will be featured at a gathering of the Art League of Madison at 6:30 p.m. at Pottery by You, 411 Hughes Road in Madison, phone 325-2964.

Lawrence uses the same patina formula that her great-grandfather, Adrien Dalpayrat, used as a ceramic artist making lamp bases for Tiffany.

The metal sculptor will talk about changing mediums and modern solutions as she demonstrates tools and metalworking techniques.

Lawrence makes copper sculptures and fountains, and her work is on display at Hale Fire Glass in Madison and Wildflower Bistro in Huntsville.

This event is open to the public, and the group meets the third Monday of each month. For information, check www.ArtLeagueMadison.org.
