Animals will be the co-stars when “Jungle Jack” Hanna brings his show to Huntsville on Sept. 23.
Shows are scheduled at 2 and 6 p.m., and tickets are selling quickly, according to Becky Cobb, spokeswoman for Broadway Theatre League, sponsor of the event at the Von Braun Center.
Hanna grew up in Knoxville working at a vet’s office part time and later owned a pet store there. He directed a small zoo in Sanford, Fla., and then was executive director of the Columbus Zoo in Ohio from 1978 until 1992.
In 1993 the animal expert became host of a nationally syndicated television show, “Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventures,” and, with his animal friends, has made hundreds of appearances on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” “Good Morning America” and “Larry King Live.”
Tickets are $22 and up for adults; $12 and up for students. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 277-1700, online at www.ticket
master.com or by visiting the Von Braun Center Box Office.
Broadway Theatre League is partnering with North Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitators to bring awareness to helping injured and orphaned North Alabama wildlife.
Individuals can help by donating supplies such as cat and dog food, blankets, towels and cages. Donations can be dropped off at the Broadway Theatre League office in the Von Braun Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or brought to the show Sept. 23.
