Barbershop quartets end successful concert series

Decatur’s Paul Stroud Concerts by the River season at Rhodes Ferry Park will wrap up Monday with a night of barbershop quartets.

Rocket City Chorus of Huntsville and Southern Splendor from Athens will both perform.

Events coordinator Vickie Allaway said the concert series was another success this year despite soaring temperatures.

“It has been absolutely wonderful,” she said. “I was able to get some new performers this year I haven’t had in the past. The crowd attendance also seemed to be a little bigger.”
