Fairly Traded Goods Fair is Saturday

If you are in the market for carvings and wall hangings from Africa or pottery and porcelain from the Caribbean, then the Fairly Traded Goods Fair is for you. The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 801 Jackson St. Fair trade aims to empower low-income, disadvantaged artisans from around the world by offering a fair and living wage to promote social and economic development for developing countries. The products are also environmentally friendly. Seasonal items like Christmas ornaments will be available as well as jewelry, purses, toys, coffee and much more at the fair, sponsored by PEO Chapter Q of Decatur. Some proceeds will raise money for scholarships and loans for women. For more information, call 560-0007.
