‘Steel Magnolias’ at Hartselle

“Steel Magnolias” will be performed Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Hartselle Fine Arts Center.

The College Street Players will show Robert Harling’s characters sharing their joys and sorrows in a Louisiana beauty shop. This will be the second and final weekend of this production.

Laura Phillips of Decatur plays beauty shop owner Truvy Jones, and Allison Good of Hartselle is her assistant.

Kelley Gillikin of Decatur and Dena Nagel of Hartselle play the mother and daughter who battle diabetes and each other.

Ann Hill of Hartselle and Jane Burrell of Decatur bring laughs as this Louisiana town’s grand dame and eccentric but loveable character.

Tickets for the play, which is staged in the old Burleson School building on College Street, are $10 each, or $5 for groups of 10 or more. They are available at the door, or call 355-5994 and leave the name and number of tickets to hold for payment at the door.
