Decatur health support group to meet

A health support group will meet in Decatur on Thursday for discussion and sampling of “heart attack-proof” recipes.

Dee Nicovich, a nutritionist and physical education professor at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, is the group leader.

The Aug. 9 topic, “How to make yourself heart attack-proof,” will feature Decatur nutrition and fitness advisors Ray and Gerry Coffey.

The free meeting will include tasting recipes from famed Cleveland Clinic physician Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn’s book “Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease.”
