'The Producers' coming to Huntsville

Mel Brooks’ “The Producers,” which won a record 12 Tony Awards, comes to Huntsville’s Von Braun Center for five performances. It is part of Broadway Theater League’s season.

Shows are Jan. 12 at 8 p.m., Jan. 13 at 2 and 8 p.m., and Jan. 14 at 2 and 7 p.m.

The musical is about a fledgling show producer who teams with his accountant to create, on purpose, a flop of a show. Why? So the two can live off what’s left of the $2 million invested in the work by a group of little old ladies. Their scheme backfires when the worst script they can find turns out to be a hit.

Tickets are $30.50-$52.50, depending on show and seating location. Call 518-6155.
