Lipizzaner Stallions coming Sunday

Gen. George S. Patton saved this rare breed from extinction at the end of World War II, and you can watch them perform Sunday.

The Lipizzaner Stallions and their riders in full costume will be featured in shows at 2 and 6 p.m. at the Von Braun Center Arena in Huntsville. These dancing white horses are best known for "Airs above the Ground," a sort of equine ballet similar to the leaps and maneuvers once used by riders to protect themselves on the battlefield.

Tickets are $19.50 and $22.50 ($2 less for those 12 and younger or 60 and older), available at the box office, by calling 533-1953 or (800) 277-1700 or through www.ticketmaster.com.
