State Junior Miss
2 local teenagers competing in scholarship program in Montgomery

Two local young women are in Montgomery this week to prepare for and compete in the statewide Junior Miss Scholarship Program.

Morgan County’s Mary Catherine McAnnally and Lawrence County’s Emily Faith Kelso probably will become well acquainted by the end of the week.

Both are vocalists, and they also have been designated roommates, along with Calhoun County Junior Miss Hali Boyles, in the home of a Montgomery family.

Limestone County does not have a Junior Miss this year.

While scholastics and judges’ interviews play a part, preliminaries with competition in talent, fitness and self-expression will be held Friday night at 7 and Saturday afternoon at 1, with the finals Saturday night at 7. For tickets and information, call (334) 244-9066 or check ajm.org/alabama.
