Rileys invite couples to marriage reception

Alabama Gov. and Mrs. Bob Riley invite couples married 25 years or longer to attend a reception Feb. 18 at the Governor’s Mansion.

They are calling February “Marriage Month” in Alabama.

“The governor and I believe that healthy, loving marriages are something to celebrate and should be honored,” said first lady Patsy Riley.

“We know that healthy marriages involve commitment and form healthy families, and healthy families nurture our children and build strong communities.”

A reservation is requested by Monday for the marriage celebration reception, which is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mansion, 1142 South Perry St. in Montgomery. Sunday dress is requested. RSVPs are required for security purposes; call (334) 844-3299.
