Princess adds comedy show and country music concert to lineup

A country music performance and another comedy show have been added to the March and April lineup at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts.

The second Comedy Café Live at the Princess will feature Mickey Dean on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Rocket 95.1 radio is helping sponsor this event.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show.

The April 13 country music show will feature Zak Hacker, first runner-up in the Nashville Star competition, who used to play The Brick, Princeton’s and other Decatur venues.

Jaime Fox of Nashville will open for him. KIKS 96 radio in Muscle Shoals is helping sponsor this show. Tickets are $20 to $23. For tickets, go online to www.princesstheatre.org or call the Princess box office, 340-1778.

Other upcoming events sponsored by the Princess include:

Monday: Talk by Frank Stitt, chef and owner of Highlands Bar and Grill and other Birmingham restaurants, 7 p.m., general admission $10 for adults and $5 for students and teachers.

March 30: Performance by jazz vocalist Rachael Price from Nashville and a jazz trio, 7:30 p.m.

April 5: 14th Big Band Bash featuring regional and school jazz musicians, 7 p.m.

April 20: “Evening with Rosanne Cash” in Black Cadillac: The Concert, 7:30 p.m.

April 23: Lecture by author Clifton Taulbert, part of the fifth annual Calhoun Community College Writers Conference, 7 p.m.

April 27: “Vintage Princess” wine tasting and silent auction fundraiser, 6 p.m., Sexton building.
