FEATURED EVENT
Comedian Mickey Dean at Princess

Comedian Mickey Dean will bring his brand of Southern humor to "Comedy Café Live" in Decatur on Saturday night.

The show featuring the Birmingham comedian will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts.

This will be the second comedy event in two months co-sponsored by Rocket 95.1 and the Princess. The February event was so popular a second show was scheduled, and both were near sell-outs.

Dean appeals to audiences from their 20s to their 80s and is often featured on regional radio and TV shows. He also has shared his "good, clean Southern humor" at more than 1,400 business and corporate events.

A sample shows how this comedian with a full head of silver-white hair pokes fun at himself, too. "A woman came up to me and said, 'Is that wig?' I said, oh, yeah, lady, if I bought a wig, I'd buy a gray one. That doesn't make sense — maybe I'd get some false teeth with two front ones missing, too!"

When the Mercedes plant arrived in Alabama, he joked, "I hope the things are easy to put together, that's all I got to say. Maybe they can get the snap-together kind, color coded or something. ... But we should finally be able to buy something straight from an Alabama plant with a gun rack already on it!"

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show. Call the box office, 340-1778, or visit www.princesstheatre.org.
