Whitlow, band going back to capital city

Jeff Whitlow and the Old Barn Band are "Headin' to Montgomery Again."

That's the title of the song Whitlow wrote and sang for Gov. Bob Riley at his 62nd birthday party and campaign stop in October at City View Farms.

Riley subsequently invited the band to perform in January at the private Boots and Bar-B-Que Inaugural Kick-Off party at the governor's mansion.

"Because of the statewide news exposure we got from that trip, we've been booked to play at the Jubilee CityFest in Montgomery on Saturday," said Whitlow, who has a business in Decatur and lives at Neel. "We'll play at 3:30 p.m. on the Colonial Bank country music stage before Mark Wills and Sugarland."
