Sample arts at Panoply this weekend

By Patrice Stewart 340-2446

The 26th Panoply Arts Festival will be a whirlwind of music, song, dance, theater and art this weekend at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville.

If you're not an arts lover, go for the food and fireworks offered all three days, and you're bound to enjoy the arts exposure by the end of the weekend.

With three main stages filled with area talent, plus tents and other venues for activities, you may have trouble deciding what to see first.

The Cold Palms International Performing Arts Stage will feature music and other presentations of Philippine, Bengali, India, Chinese and other groups.

The Boeing Arts Marketplace and areas for hands-on art activities for children and adults will be open much of the weekend. Fireworks will be all three evenings, at 9 Friday and Saturday and at 8 Sunday.
