The 16th annual Dogwood Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will be Saturday in downtown Athens. Visit more than 20 arts and crafts vendors, get your child’s face painted or learn about fire and bike safety. There’s fun for everyone from the pedal tractor pull to the Do Da Parade.

The entertainment schedule is as follows:

10 a.m.: Athens Jazz Band

11 a.m.: Sonic Noise Band

Noon: Barry Kay

1 p.m.: Southern Splendor

1:30 p.m.: Silver & Gold Band

3:30 p.m.: Zach Brazier

Children will parade their flower- and ribbon-decorated bicycles and wagons to Big Spring Memorial Park starting at 9:45 a.m. The festival raises money for beautification projects. Call 233-8728 for more information.
