FEATURED EVENT
Daikin Festival is Friday

This year's Daikin America Festival is Friday night from 6:30 to 9 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds behind Home Depot.

The annual event mingles favorites from several cultures, including hamburgers and hot-air balloons and the Alabama Blues Brothers, jambalaya and a Cajun and Zydeco band, and Yakisoba and Japanese folk dances and drums.

It's all fun, and best of all, Daikin provides everything free.

The food will also include Southern barbecue, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream.

Music for the evening will also include Lee Benoit and the Bayou Stompers, rock and roll, country and Japanese.

Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening. Guests must be present to win the grand prize, a trip to Acapulco, Mexico. The winning number will be drawn about 8:45 p.m.

The gates will open at 6:15 p.m. Friday, and shuttle buses will run to satellite parking locations at Austin High School and Colonial Mall.
