Daikin Festival today

The annual free Daikin America Festival is Friday night from 6:30 to 9 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds behind Home Depot. The gates will open at 6:15 p.m., and shuttle buses will run to satellite parking locations at Austin High School and Colonial Mall.

The food will include Southern barbecue, Yakisoba, jambalaya, hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream. Music will include the Alabama Blues Brothers, Lee Benoit and the Bayou Stompers, a Cajun and Zydeco band, rock and roll, country and Japanese.

Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening. Guests must be present to win the grand prize, a trip to Acapulco, Mexico. The winning number will be drawn about 8:45 p.m.
