No concert in Rhodes Ferry Park today

No concert is planned for Monday in Rhodes Ferry Park because of the Memorial Day holiday, plus the many concerts and balloon events scheduled Saturday and Sunday at Point Mallard Park.

Vickie Allaway, Decatur Parks and Recreation employee who coordinates Paul Stroud Concerts by the River, said the free series will continue on June 4 at 6 p.m. and run through Aug. 27.

On June 4, XPT (Crosspointe Church Praise Band) will play acoustical Christian music beginning at 6, followed by Cristina Lynn’s original songs with a country flare at 7. Visit www
.cristinalynn.com for a sample of her sound

The June 11 schedule includes the Dulcimer Association at 6 and Phillip Ghrigsby’s vocals in the style of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett at 7.

On June 18, the only performer will be Dave Potts, a recording artist from Auburn singing original songs with a James Taylor style. He will start at 6. You can check out his music in advance at www.dave
pots.com.

The June 25 concert will feature Kevin Caudle and country music beginning at 6.

The public can bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic suppers and even dogs on leashes, Allaway said.
