Local art at Carnegie

This oil painting of hay in a field titled “Bovine Buffet” is one of the pieces by more than 70 area artists selected for the current exhibit at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center at 207 Church St. N.E. in Decatur. Paintings by this artist, Robin Roberts of Decatur, have hung in earlier shows of local work at the Carnegie. “Embracing Art V: A Coming Together of Area Amateur and Professional Artists” will be on display through June 22. The artists were honored at a reception Friday. Carnegie hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free, with donations and membership welcome; call 341-0562 for information on exhibits and summer art camps.
