‘Camp Babysitter’ to teach students important safety and first aid skills

Students between ages 11 and 15 can learn new skills at the two-day “Camp Babysitter.”

The American Red Cross in Decatur will sponsor this camp July 24 and 25 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at its office at 431 Holly St. N.E.

Those attending will learn leadership, safety, basic care, first aid and professional skills.

Training in infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation will be included, along with games, prizes, crafts and lunch.

The newly certified baby sitters will receive first-aid bags to take along on sitting jobs.

The fee is $75, payable to the Red Cross in advance.
