Backstage Theatre to hold auditions

Backstage Theatre Company will hold auditions in Decatur this weekend for two fall productions.

Artistic director Darren Butler said he plans to stage “High School Musical” at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts Oct. 12-14.

He will hold auditions for cast members Saturday at 9 a.m. at Studio One, 214 E. Moulton St.

“I’m looking for teenagers to fill the roles of the brainiacs, jocks, cheerleaders and other ensemble members,” he said.

Also, auditions for “How to Eat Like a Child” will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Studio One. Older elementary and junior-high students will be needed for this fall production at Studio One.

Anyone interested in trying out should come prepared with a song.
