Stacks of summer memories

These totem poles of painted cardboard boxes are part of Carnegie Visual Arts Center’s “What I Did During Summer Vacation” display. The exhibit features creations from more than 100 art students in local summer art programs. Pre-school students to high school students from Camp Carnegie, The School of Fine Arts at First Baptist Church, The Artist Within and the students of Jackie Goode all contributed work. The exhibit is open through Aug. 25 at Carnegie, 207 Church St. N.E., Decatur. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free, though donations are accepted. Call 341-0562 for more information.
