'Vanities' at Calhoun

The Theatre Department at Calhoun Community College will perform another six shows of "Vanities" next week, including three matinees perfect for Red Hat Society members and other groups to attend together.

Jami Doyal, Emily Parks and Margaret Maloney, at left, play three best friends in the 1960s. In this script by Jack Heifner, they age as they apply makeup at three vanities on the set, moving from high-school cheerleaders to college sorority sisters to wives, mothers and career women. This show was staged in July at Calhoun.

These extra performances will be in the Black Box Theatre in Calhoun's Fine Arts Building at 1 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. Sept. 13, 14 and 15 and at 2 p.m. Sept. 16. Tickets are $7 for students and seniors and $10 general admission at the door. For reservations, call 306-2693 or e-mail whp@calhoun.edu.
