Monster theater

Daniel Walker of Hartselle as Count Dracula and Katie Gilhooly as Dracula's Countess will perform in the musical comedy "I'm Sorry the Bridge is Out, You'll Have to Spend the Night" at the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts this weekend.

You can also see Dr. Frankenstein, Igor, the Mummy and other monster favorites at two performances: Friday at midnight or Saturday at 6 p.m. The play is set on a stormy night when a young couple's car breaks down in front of Dr. Frankenstein's Castle, said director Mickey Johnson, who is directing a cast of mostly area teens for the Decatur theater group DreamWeavers.

Tickets are $7 for students and $11 for adults, available at the Princess in advance and at the door an hour before each show. You can also see the "monsters" in a skit at Halloween Hoot at 2:45 p.m. Saturday on a Second Avenue stage near G. Jones.

The cast will host screaming and costume contests for the public at the Princess beginning at 5 p.m.
