It's the bee's knees

Six performers will don the wigs of The Supremes and other famous women singers in “Beehive:The 60’s Musical” at Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday.

The trip down memory lane is filled with music that reflects the changing times of society and women’s roles in music in the psychedelic decade of love and rock ’n’ roll. You’ll hear 40 classic songs like The Angels’ “My Boyfriend’s Back” and “Respect” from Aretha Franklin to Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary” to “Try (Just a Little Bit Harder)” by Janis Joplin.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show are $25-$40. Visit www.princesstheatre.org or call 340-1778.

“It’s a family show … Everybody knows the songs — it doesn’t matter how old you are, kids and senior citizens and everybody in between” will enjoy it, said Patrice Covington, the musical revue’s narrator.
