Noted flower arranger to do workshop Saturday

Well-known area floral expert Carl Cassidy will conduct a flower arranging workshop Saturday in Decatur.

St. John Episcopal Church is sponsoring the program. Cassidy, who own's Lola's in the Shoals and has decorated at such prestigious events as the presidential inauguration, will decorate the church altar from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

From 1 to 3 p.m., participants will create their own arrangement in a container that they supply.

Cost for the altar decorating session is $20. The arranging session is $40. Greenery and flowers will be provided but you must supply clippers and a drop cloth.

Lunch catered by Curry's is $10.

The afternoon session is limited to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
