Catching ‘snowflakes’

Luke Williams, 8, catches “snowflakes” with his mouth at the 20th Annual Athens Open House put on by the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce on the downtown square. As the Christmas tree was lit on the square, snowflakes were produced by machine and the children were able to get candy from Santa Claus. The open house is one of several holiday events in the area. The Decatur street parade, organized by the Jaycees, will be Monday at 6 p.m. It will travel up Second Avenue Southeast from Gordon Drive to Lee Street and then follow Bank Street to Old State Bank.
