Madison couple earn award as top Young Farm Family
From Staff, AP Reports
MOBILE — The Alabama Farmers Federation chose a family that farms in Limestone County as its Outstanding Young Farm Family for 2006 during the group’s convention in Mobile.
The award Sunday went to Stuart and Deborah Sanderson, who live in Madison. They have a 2-year-old son, Spencer, and farm with Sanderson’s cousin Chad Henderson, his uncle Mike Henderson, and his grandfather G.W. Henderson.
Their 4,000-acre farm includes corn, wheat, cotton and soybeans.
It occupies parts of Limestone and Madison counties.
“Stuart has been on the
forefront of adopting new technology that makes his
farm more efficient and productive,” Young Farmers Director Brandon Moore said in a statement.
As the top farm family, the Sandersons will receive prizes and participate in many activities promoting Alabama agriculture in 2007.
