Man injured after vehicle flips

Emergency crews had to cut a man free from his vehicle after it flipped and landed on a driveway on Bowles Bridge Road on Sunday.

The unidentified victim was trapped in his four-door car for about 90 minutes before Decatur EMS and volunteer firefighters from Flint freed him, state troopers reported. MedFlight then took him to Huntsville Hospital.

The eastbound car lost control in a curve about a mile west of U.S. 31 at about 4:40 p.m., according to troopers. It slid into a ditch and then struck a stone gatepost, causing it to flip and land upside down.
