RIPLEY — Authorities are seeking the public's help in catching who broke into four Ripley community homes Monday and took more than $4,000 in items and cash.

Limestone County Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said three break-ins occurred on Ripley Road and one on Vanzille Lane.

Ripley is southwest of Athens.

Items taken include a shotgun, two Dale Earnhardt die-cast cars, heater, cash, computer, DVD player, entertainment center, VCR, end tables, 100 DVDs, "Friday the 13th" movie poster, stereo, computer tower, printer and speaker.

At one Ripley home, an alarm scared the intruder or intruders away and nothing was missing.

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Department at 232-0111.

Investigator Brian Ruble is working the case.
