MOULTON — Moulton police are looking for a man who robbed S&R Catfish employees at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Robert Blaxton, owner of the restaurant on Alabama 157, said a man wearing a camouflage jacket and a brown ski mask entered his business at about 8:30 while employees were preparing to close. The man, in his early 20s, pointed a .22-caliber, sawed-off rifle at a female employee, who immediately screamed for Blaxton, he said.

"She hollered at me, and when I came out, he had the gun pointed on her, and I told her to give him the money from the register," said Blaxton.

The armed robber took about $500 and retreated to his escape vehicle, which Blaxton described as a light-gray, '80s model Nissan.

According to the police report, the car headed south on Alabama 157. Moulton police officers, state troopers and Lawrence County sheriff's deputies immediately searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Moulton Police Chief Lyndon McWhorter described the suspect as a white male of average height and thin build. Anyone with information related to the case can call police at 974-3961.
