Monthly chemical collection is today

Decatur and Morgan County residents may bring their unused household chemicals to the monthly ChemiCollection Day today from 9 a.m. until noon at the Decatur Public Works Complex, 1802 Central Parkway S.W.

Chemicals accepted include paints and paint products, used motor oil, antifreeze and automotive products, auto and household batteries, and lawn and garden products such as weed and bug killers. All chemicals should be brought in their original containers or labeled as to contents.

The limit per household is 5 gallons or 50 pounds. No farm or business chemicals will be accepted. Items not accepted are unknown chemicals, explosives, medical or radioactive wastes, flares, gas cylinders or tires.
