Police arrest man wanted in double murder

A man arrested in the murder of a pregnant woman and a man in Georgia remained in the Morgan County Jail on Saturday, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Fatal shooting

U.S. marshals and Decatur police booked Abraham Alonso Alcaraz-Vasquez, 22, into the jail Friday about 7 p.m., according to the department.

Police in Clayton County, Ga., wanted Alcaraz-Vasquez in the fatal shooting of the victims in their car Dec. 1.

Pregnant woman dies

Police said Alcaraz-Vasquez shot Jitaan Leigh Ann Hornsby, 19, in the head after forcing her car to stop around 2 a.m.

Seventeen weeks pregnant, Hornsby died that afternoon.

The front-seat passenger, Adam Rodriguez, 24, also was shot and died at the scene.

A third victim, Tiffany Smith, 19, Hornsby’s roommate and a dancer at a strip club with her, suffered a shot in the hand.

She ran from the car and called police, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The victims were leaving the club, where Alcaraz-Vasquez had been celebrating his birthday.
