The United States Postal Service recommends mailing Christmas packages as soon as possible.
The Postal Service expects to handle more than 20 billion pieces of mail before Christmas Day.
Here are a few guidelines for delivery before Dec. 25:
Deadline for first-class letters and cards is Monday.
Deadline for parcel post is Wednesday.
Deadline for priority mail is Dec. 20.
Deadline for express mail is Dec. 22.
Maximum weight for packages is 70 pounds.
Maximum length is 108 inches.
Heavy brown paper wrapping and tape designed for shipping recommended.
