ATHENS — Athens police are looking for two men in the attempted armed robbery of a laundromat Friday evening about 6:30, according to Sgt. Jason White.

White said seven people were in the laundromat behind L&S Foodland on Jefferson Street when the men — armed with handguns, dressed in black and wearing ski masks — entered the business.

“They told everybody to get down. Three did, and the other four people ran out the other door,” White said. “The robbers then exited the building and didn’t get anything.” Nobody was hurt.

A spokesman for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department said someone robbed a grocery store Friday night. He would give no further information, and it was not known whether the incidents were related.
