Police investigate fatal shootings of 2 Opelika males

OPELIKA (AP) — A double homicide in Opelika was under investigation Tuesday when two men were found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds at a trailer park.

Marrell Holland, 33, and Matthew Thomas, 19, both of Opelika, died from the gunshot wounds shortly after being taken to East Alabama Medical Center on Monday night.

According to Lee County Coroner Bill Harris, police responded to a 911 call to a possible shooting in Lakeshore Trailer Park at 8:30 p.m.
