Fire truck greets passenger plane at Huntsville airport

A flight from Detroit to Huntsville was met by a fire truck Tuesday after the pilot radioed in that he smelled smoke.

Huntsville International Airport spokesperson Barbie Peek said the passenger jet "landed safely, without incident. ... They didn't find anything" suggesting a fire.

The return flight to Detroit was delayed so that mechanics could examine the aircraft, Peek said.

No other details were immediately available.
