Woman offers reward for missing dogs

SOMERVILLE — Jeanette Hoskins is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the return of Roco and Precious.

Someone is believed to have stolen the two pit bulls from a pen outside the Hoskins' residence on Parker Trail Private Drive during two separate incidents Oct. 7 and Oct. 24.

Hoskins said the first dog disappeared while she and her husband, Terry, were at the bank. The second dog vanished during a doctor's appointment.

"They're not fighting dogs. They're house dogs. The only reason we put them in the pens was because they get little attitudes when we leave them at the house by themselves," Hoskins said. "They're pit bull dogs, so what are they (the thieves) going to do? They're going to fight them. And they're going to get my dogs killed because they're not fighting dogs. These are the dogs that play on the floor with my grandbabies."

Precious is a 1-year-old female, splotched tan and white, with a blue eye and a green eye and a tan ear and a white ear.

Roco is a 4-year-old male, chocolate with a white chest and white tips on his paws and tail. Neither dog has been clipped.

Though Hoskins asked the public to be on the lookout, she said the thief is probably someone who knows the family and their pets.

Hoskins said she would give $250 for return of the dogs or information leading to their recovery.

For more information or to offer a tip, call Hoskins at 584-9592 or 347-7071 or call Morgan County sheriff Detective Terry Kelly at 560-6196.
