Locker room prank no laughing matter at Hartselle school

HARTSELLE — Two Hartselle Junior High students face discipline after an incident Wednesday in the boys locker room.

Superintendent Mike Reed said during sixth-period physical education class, a student bent down to get into his locker and one of the students put a pair of shorts on his head. He said two students then exposed themselves to the student.

"To the best we can ascertain, there was not physical contact," Reed said.

The incident occurred in the final period of the school day before letting out for Christmas break. Reed said the two boys know that Principal Don Pouncey plans to meet with their parents, before the second semester starts in January, to discuss discipline measures.

"They know this is a very serious matter, and they will be disciplined when they get back," Reed said.

Hartselle police Lt. Justin Barley said his department has not received any reports of the incident.
