Readers feeling obligated on gifts

If it is better to give than to receive, then receiving may make some people feel obligated to give.

Responding to a recent Decatur Daily online poll, most of 211 voters answered yes to the question, “Do you feel obligated to give a Christmas present to someone who gives one to you?”

More than 68 percent answered yes, while only about 31 percent said no.

The unscientific poll at www.decaturdaily.com ended Sunday at 5 p.m.
