Emergency food, shelter funds available in Morgan
Morgan County has received $44,930 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.
A local board will determine how the funds will be distributed among local service agencies.
Recipients must be private, voluntary, nonprofit organizations or units of government; have an accounting system; practice nondiscrimination; and have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.
If an organization is private, it must have a volunteer board.
Previous recipients included Community Action, Crisis Services, Tennessee Valley Outreach and The Salvation Army.
Public or private agencies interested in applying for these funds should contact George Pollitt, executive director of United Way of Morgan County, at 353-6643.
