Herb Fields said the Friday night hunt deadline is 7:30 a.m. The Saturday bench show deadline is 5:30 a.m. with the hunt deadline for that night at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee for the hunts is $20 each. Entry fee for the bench show is $10.

Fields said Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge will be open for the hunts on the south side of the Tennessee River only. Officials will crown the high-scoring dog as the Tennessee River Champion. Fields said dogs aren’t required to hunt both nights in order to win.

Dog owners should report to the coon hunters’ lodge on Fields Road, where the hunting supply truck will be.
