3 firefighters injured in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE (AP) — Three Huntsville firefighters were struck and injured by an SUV while on a medical call Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened in a bank parking lot on University Drive.

The firefighters were leaning into another SUV, talking to their patient, when an elderly woman’s vehicle struck the SUV and firefighters, police said.

The woman was going to the ATM when she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

All three firefighters were taken to the hospital, as was the elderly woman in the SUV.

Their conditions were not immediately available.
