Victim flown from motorcycle wreck

ATHENS — The condition of an injured motorcycle driver had not been determined late Tuesday, as he was still being treated in Huntsville Hospitalís emergency room, a hospital spokeswoman said.

State troopers said Michael Hardy, 41, of Athens, went by MedFlight to Huntsville Hospital following the crash on Ripley Road six miles west of Athens at 1:44 p.m.

Hardy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, troopers said.

Decatur pharmacy burglarized

No drugs were stolen during a burglary to Pill Box Pharmacy, Decatur police said Tuesday.

Police called to the scene at about 6 a.m. Friday found a drive-through window shattered by a cinder block, said Lt. Chris Mathews, a police spokesman.

A witness told police they saw a black male in a white hooded shirt standing outside the window while a second man, inside, handed him the cash register through the window.

The register and about $75 were all that was taken
