Decatur firm wins 2nd city contract
Decatur's City Council unanimously approved Monday a contract with McWhorter Communications, a local marketing firm, to enhance the city's Web site and make City Hall more accessible via the Internet.
The second such contract awarded to McWhorter in as many years has a cap of $150,000, officials said.
Mayor Don Kyle said the decision to retain McWhorter expresses the council's desire to expand the overall marketing of Decatur through new signage, media coordination, sports marketing and photography and other venues.
During its previous contract, McWhorter designed the city's Web site, www.decaturalabamausa.com.
